Know your rights! Organise!
Workers before us have conquered many rights. But, time and again, our bosses, be it in big comapnies or in small bars and restaurants, try to bypass and undermine them. That‘s why it is so important for us to know what we are – even legally! – entitled to and to claim it. In order to be successful, organising with your colleagues and joining up with a union is a prerequisite.
These are the rights every worker in Germany enjoys:
- minimum wage (currently 8,84€ gross per hour)
- sick pay
- paid leave
- resting time
- supplemental pay for night shift work
- payment of wages on time
- self-management of tips
- and many others.
It is so-called „mini-jobbers“, immigrants, youth and other underprivileged groups whose rights are regularly violated. For that reason we, the Free Workers Union of Jena, invite all workers, especially foreign workers, to an information event:
2nd August | Trierer Straße 39, 99423 | open doors from 8 p.m., information event from 10 p.m.
We can offer translation into the following languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, Polish.
FAU Jena is a member-led grassroots trade union, part of the anarcho-syndicalist movement. We have no paid functionaries, we take all decisions together and always position ourselves on the side of workers. Currently, we‘re supporting a worker from Weimar in claiming his outstanding wages from Dal Pescatore. „2nd August in Weimar: Know your rights! Organise!“ weiterlesen
